Visconti is thrilled to announce the launch of the new Opera Demo 'Carousel' collection. The iconic design of the Opera Collection is enhanced by inspiration from the extravagant parties that took place at the Palace of Versailles. This world of sophistication and luxury made history for its embellished parties, colorful dresses, and theatrical hairstyles.
A carousel of colors: pink, green, blue, and red transport us to an eccentric palace party where high spirits and extravagance take center stage. This new collection stands out for its beautiful transparencies and bright colors that highlight the 'squaring of the circle' design of the iconic Visconti Opera. Patented in 2004, the squaring the circle design was inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci's 'Vitruvian Man' and is often admired as the perfect ergonomic shape for a writing instrument.
As always, Visconti excels at creating uniquely swirled resins, this time in 4 striking colors. Each Opera Demo color variant is a blend of three types of semi-transparent acrylic resin. The combination of these materials gives the pen its brightness and unique detailing. All metal fitting are finished in palladium and polished by hand. The fountain pen features Visconti's new in-house 14kt gold nib, available in EF, F, M, B, and Stub widths. The fountain pen features a new style piston rod, crafted from a very durable Acrylic Resin. The new rod is translucent and does not disrupt the view of ink in the new Opera Demo body when filled.
The fountain pen fills using Visconti's patented double reservoir power filler and features a second ink window round the ring of the pen behind the nib. The Opera Demo collection is available in fountain pen, rollerball, and ballpoint. The fountain pen and rollerball versions also feature Visconti's patented hook-safe lock closure.

Horrendous, Even for a Required Textbook
Format: Paperback
Normally reviews aren't necessary for school textbooks. They're required. You're buying this whether you want to or not. However, I feel I need to take a moment and record how awful this book is. It's sexist, unhelpful, and is written as if the authors are talking down to a reader. You can't even complete the exercises after reading the chapters, and the book provides no answers if you were to try. I learned nothing from this text, except that women are smart and healthy and men are sick and stupid. These are stereotypes texts can easily avoid. Instead, this text sought out those stereotypes, going out of its way to reinforce them. Textbooks should put readers to sleep at worst, not actively insult them. And to be clear, this isn't about the fact that women live longer. This complaint concerns that every single example in the text that concerns a sickly individual uses a male pronoun, and every example in the text that concerns a healthy individual uses a female pronoun. The sexism grows from there. Textbooks have to try to be this poor. In that regard, and that regard alone, this one succeeded.
If you're about to take a class that requires this textbook, reconsider your life trajectory. Something is going wrong.
Also, and this is petty, but the comics made for this textbook are probably the worst I've ever seen. The art is so poor it's not even funny. My dog could do better.

Just the DSM-5 tool I was looking for
Format: Paperback
I searched for a DSM-5 quick reference tool that I could use throughout my workday. This DSM-5 book by Medical Creations was just what I was looking for. Each psychiatric condition is listed in an easy-to-find and easy-to-read format. Diagnostic criteria are summarized in a bulleted format. I found the listed corresponding ICD-10 code especially useful when charting patient notes.
I found the final chapter especially interesting, as I was unfamiliar with many of the covered conditions. Chapter 20 is titled "Cultural Diagnoses and Conditions for Further Study, Interviewing". This chapter includes disorders such as caffeine use disorder and internet gaming disorder.
The book is lightweight and nicely fits into a white coat pocket. It is a great resource for both students who are just learning about psychiatric conditions and for experienced healthcare providers. I highly recommend!
