For your first try, we suggest following the recommended colors. The images, from left to right and top to bottom, include: spools of thread, a cat on fabric, fabric rolls, a sewing machine, sewing notions, and a quilted flower. Go with light colors first—you can always add depth by layering darker shades on top.

Add more definition by blending in shadows along the edges of the openings using the Postage Collage Coloring Stencil or the Postage Collage Blocks Stencil.
