Kanto SPH Universal Height Adjustable Floor Speaker Stands at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The SPH is a pair of universal height-adjustable floor speaker stands from Kanto (Vancouver, Canada), available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Designed for bookshelf speakers up to 30 lb per stand, the SPH is built from solid steel construction with a height range of 24 to 42 inches, allowing precise tweeter-to-ear alignment across a wide variety of listening positions and room configurations. A dual-screw locking system secures the column at any chosen height, and the vibration-dampening design minimizes unwanted resonance for accurate, lifelike stereo reproduction. Carpet spikes and rubber feet are both included, making the SPH suitable for any floor surface. Available in black, the SPH blends seamlessly with home theater, stereo, and gaming setups alike.

Height Adjustability and Tweeter Alignment

The SPH stands adjust continuously between 24 and 42 inches, covering a wider height range than most fixed-height bookshelf speaker stands on the market. This flexibility allows listeners to position the tweeter at precise ear height whether seated on a low sofa, a standard chair, or in a gaming or desktop setup. Correct tweeter alignment is one of the most significant factors in achieving accurate stereo imaging and high-frequency clarity, and the SPH makes that adjustment straightforward without requiring the purchase of multiple fixed-height stand sets. The dual-screw locking mechanism clamps the column firmly at the chosen position, preventing any drift or wobble during playback.

Vibration Damping and Floor Protection

The SPH is constructed from solid steel throughout, providing the inherent mass needed to minimize sympathetic vibrations between the stand and the speaker cabinet. The vibration-dampening design reduces the energy transferred from the speaker into the stand structure, keeping coloration low and the reproduced sound more faithful to the source. For floor protection and stability, the SPH ships with both carpet spikes for soft floor surfaces and rubber feet for hardwood, tile, and laminate. Swapping between the two takes only moments, making the SPH a genuinely universal solution regardless of room flooring.

Key Features

  • Height Adjustable 24 to 42 Inches: The widest height range in the Kanto stand lineup, allowing tweeter-to-ear alignment for seated, sofa, gaming, and desktop listening positions without additional accessories.
  • Solid Steel Construction: Full steel build provides the structural rigidity and inherent mass needed to minimize resonance and keep the speaker platform stable during playback.
  • Dual-Screw Locking System: Two independent locking screws secure the column at the selected height, preventing movement or settling during extended listening sessions.
  • Vibration-Dampening Design: The stand geometry and material choices reduce vibration transfer between the speaker cabinet and the stand, improving sonic accuracy and stereo imaging.
  • Carpet Spikes and Rubber Feet Included: Both floor contact options are included in the box, making the SPH compatible with carpet, hardwood, laminate, tile, and any other common floor surface.
  • 30 lb Load Capacity Per Stand: Supports midsize to large bookshelf speaker models, covering the majority of popular bookshelf and compact monitor designs.
  • Minimalist Aesthetic: A clean, slender black profile integrates easily into home theater, two-channel stereo, and gaming room setups without visual clutter.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the Kanto SPH speaker stands?

The Kanto SPH are a pair of universal height-adjustable floor speaker stands built from solid steel, supporting bookshelf speakers up to 30 lb per stand and adjusting in height from 24 to 42 inches. Made by Kanto, a Canadian audio accessories brand based in Vancouver, the SPH is designed to optimize tweeter placement for any listening position while minimizing vibration through a dampening-focused construction and a dual-screw locking column system.

How do the Kanto SPH stands compare to the Kanto SX22 or Sanus SF22?

The Kanto SPH and the Kanto SX22 serve different listener needs within the Kanto lineup. The SX22 is a fixed-height fillable stand optimized for mass loading and acoustic isolation, while the SPH prioritizes height flexibility with its 24 to 42 inch adjustment range, making it the better choice when tweeter height needs to be dialed in precisely or when the stands will be used across multiple speaker setups. Compared to the Sanus SF22, a popular fixed-height competitor, the SPH adds the significant advantage of continuous height adjustment without requiring a separate stand purchase for different room configurations. The SPH is the stronger option for listeners who value versatility and setup flexibility above mass-loading performance.

Can the Kanto SPH stands be used on hardwood floors without causing scratches?

Yes, the Kanto SPH stands are safe for use on hardwood, laminate, and tile floors. The included rubber feet provide a protective, non-marking contact surface between the stand base and the floor, preventing scratches and scuffs during normal use and when repositioning the stands. For carpeted rooms, the included carpet spikes can be swapped in to improve stability on soft floor surfaces by anchoring the base more firmly.

What does the dual-screw locking system do on the Kanto SPH?

The dual-screw locking system on the Kanto SPH uses two independent tightening screws to clamp the adjustable column firmly at the chosen height position. A single-screw system can allow minor column rotation or settling under the weight of heavier speakers, whereas the dual-screw design distributes clamping force more evenly and prevents any movement once tightened. This keeps the speaker platform level and stable throughout playback, even with speakers toward the upper end of the 30 lb load capacity.

Which speakers are compatible with the Kanto SPH stands?

The Kanto SPH stands are compatible with a wide range of bookshelf and compact monitor speakers up to 30 lb per stand. Common compatible models include speakers from KEF, ELAC, Wharfedale, Q Acoustics, Klipsch, Polk Audio, Definitive Technology, and Kanto's own YU and YU6 powered bookshelf speaker series. The universal top plate design accommodates most bookshelf speaker footprints, and the height range of 24 to 42 inches suits speakers intended for both seated home listening and desktop or near-field monitor use.

What is the ideal stand height for bookshelf speakers in a typical listening room?

The ideal stand height for bookshelf speakers places the tweeter at approximately ear height when seated in the primary listening position, which for most standard sofas falls between 36 and 42 inches from the floor. The Kanto SPH adjusts through this entire range and beyond, down to 24 inches for lower seating or near-field setups. Starting at the seated ear height and then making small adjustments of one to two inches while listening for stereo image focus is the most effective method for dialing in the optimal position.

Perfect Printer for My Small Business
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
I purchased the Epson ET-15000 for my crafting and apparel business and have been very pleased with its performance. The print quality is excellent, colors are vibrant, and the large ink tanks help save money over time. It handles larger print sizes with ease and has become an essential part of my workspace.

Nice large format printer which is what I needed
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
I make stained glass panels and needed a printer that I could make larger copies with. I also wanted one that I could manipulate my images with. This was my best option and I love the Eco-Tank printers. After reading the reviews I made sure to add a couple years of additional warranty for my peace of mind. Finding 13 x 19 paper that was affordable was a tough challenge. I found a bunch on FB marketplace and bought everything they had to offer. This printer was very easy to set-up. I just followed the instructions and then followed what was on my computer screen. At first I thought I would have an issue connecting to Wi-Fi but when it failed on the computer, I was able to go to the printer and do it from the control panel - Easy peesey. I have used it several times since filling, charging, and installing and everything works as it should. My husband has an Eco-Tank printer and I've wanted one since he got his. I love that the ink will last a very long time and that it will be cost efficient. I am not overly interested in photo printing so this was the perfect choice for my needs. The print quality is fairly good when comparing it to my old Canon and e that there are several paper trays and ways to make copies, especially the automatic feed and the larger scanner bed.

document feeder not working on first real use.
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
Serious reliability issues and concerns. We have owned the printer for about 1 month and printed a limited amount. For the first time today I tried scanning with the document feeder. I was scanning about 12 pages that should of been 1 document. The first page scanned and then stopped. I started the scanner again and it scanned about 5 pages and then jammed. The rest of the pages were a constant jamming/not feeding fiasco. I would run to the computer and hit scan, then run to the printer and manually push on the paper as hard as i could without the paper bending. if I pushed just right i could get a few pages through without jamming. I ended up with about 6 pdf's instead of one document and constant jamming in the paper feeder. Frustrating from a brand new printer and the first time using the paper scanner. There is a clicking noise when it scans. a few of the pages fed properly but the rest had to be forced. No obvious obstructions or other issues. I tried cleaning the rollers with no success. Then attempted to reach out to Epson support. The only support option I could find was an email form that put me in a captia loop after entering all the information so I had to start over on the ticket submission. No chat support, no phone number, brand new higher priced printer with serious build/reliability issues. Frustrating.

This is a great printer. I love it.
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
I’ve been using the Epson ET‑15000 for custom chip bags and ran into a huge issue with my original paper choice. The printer itself is great, but the Koala 30 lb glossy paper did not play well with the black ink at all. Even after letting my prints sit for a full two days, the black areas would still smear and come off on my fingers as soon as I started folding and assembling the bags. It was super frustrating and made it hard to trust my prints for orders. I decided to try Eshang high gloss paper instead, and the difference has been night and day. With the same Epson ET‑15000 and the same designs, the Eshang paper works like a charm. The black ink dries quickly, doesn’t rub off when handled, and holds up beautifully while I’m folding and sealing my chip bags. Colors look vibrant, the finish is nice and glossy, and I don’t have to worry about smudging anymore. If you’re using an Epson EcoTank like the ET‑15000 and struggling with black ink smearing on Koala glossy, I highly recommend switching to Eshang high gloss. It completely solved the problem for me and made my chip bag printing so much easier and more professional.
