Engineered for Maximum Flow and Unmatched Durability

Unlike many competitors that rely on pie-cut or multi-welded fabricated designs, AMS Race Downpipes utilize robust cast construction for superior strength and longevity. The welded seams on our competitor’s offerings are a common failure point in high-heat turbo applications; casting eliminates these weak areas while allowing for smoother internal transitions and optimized geometry.

Using SolidWorks 3D CAD, the AMS engineering team carefully designed the inlet and outlet profiles to maximize exhaust gas velocity while minimizing turbulence. A large 90mm (3.5”) primary section ensures optimal flow capacity, preventing the unnecessary backpressure often caused by smaller 76mm (3”) alternatives.

Thick ½” stainless steel flanges provide a leak-free seal and maintain flatness under extreme thermal cycling, while factory-style mounting points ensure a true OEM-like installation with no chassis clearance issues.

Precision Manufacturing, Inside and Out

Every AMS Race Downpipe is manufactured from 100% 304 stainless steel, including cast inlet and outlet sections and a center pipe constructed from .065” wall thickness tubing. Each unit is precision TIG welded to meet AMS’s uncompromising standards for fit, finish, and durability.

The result is a downpipe system that installs easily, bolts directly to the stock mid-pipe or most aftermarket exhaust systems, and looks as good as it performs.

Big Power Gains Where It Matters Most

Exhaust restriction is one of the biggest limiting factors in turbocharged performance. By replacing the factory downpipes with the AMS Race Downpipes, backpressure is significantly reduced, allowing the turbochargers to operate more efficiently. The result is substantial horsepower and torque gains throughout the entire powerband, along with noticeably quicker turbo spool and sharper throttle response.

During in-house testing on our shop vehicles equipped with upgraded turbos, these downpipes delivered dramatic improvements with nothing more than a bolt-on installation—proof that proper engineering makes all the difference. During testing our shop GT-R with Alpha upgraded turbos saw gains across the power band of 100 wheel horsepower and over 130 ft lbs of torque with this simple bolt-on!  Turbo spool-up was also improved by almost 400rpm!
