▸ Prerequisites
- Referral Diver (any entry-level scuba certification) or higher
- Must be a certified Open Water Diver prior to final certification
- Valid Oxygen Provider, First Aid, and CPR certification required prior to receiving your certification card (SSI React Right covers all three)
▸ Minimum Age & Who It's For
- Minimum age: 12 years old
- Any certified diver who wants to become a safer, more capable buddy — and a mandatory step towards SSI professional programmes

- 🏫 Classroom/theory: Online via MySSI
- 🏊 Pool sessions: BCP Dolphin Leisure Centre, Poole (main pool + 3.8m diving pit)
- 🌊 Open water scenarios: Vobster Quay, Frome

- 3 pool/confined water sessions including deep-water rescue scenarios in the diving pit

- React Right certification — must be obtained before your certification card can be issued (book separately with us)
- Equipment hire — students are encouraged to use their own kit; hire available at extra cost
- Vobster Quay entry fee (£26 per day)
- Mask, snorkel and boots (must be purchased from Dorset Diving Services)
- Transport to/from venues
ⓘ Good to Know
- Maximum open water depth: 18 metres for all students
- Rescuing an unconscious diver skill: maximum depth 9 metres
- React Right must be valid (within 2 years) before your certification card is issued
- This is a mandatory prerequisite for SSI Dive Guide, Divemaster, and all instructor programmes
- A medical self-declaration form is required before in-water training begins
