The wood from this tree has a beautiful ivory and peach color with very fine grain. The peach color is concentrated in several mineralization streaks that will show up well in a finished bowl. Madrona Bowl Blank Md-45 2.5" x 5" x 5" 2.1 lbs. This is a small half-log bowl blank of Pacific Madrone wood. The wood from this tree has a beautiful ivory and peach color with very fine grain. The peach color is concentrated in several mineralization streaks that will show up well in a finished bowl. The grain is long and straight with no visible knots. This is a classic half-log blank, split through the center of the log. The pith lies at the cut face. I've sealed this blank well with Anchor seal but cracks do sometimes form while drying. If any appear, I recommend reinforcing and filling the cracks with CA glue prior to turning. The bark is complete and well-attached, so you have the option of turning either a conventional bowl or a "barky" natural-edge bowl. If you want a full bark edge on the natural rim, you will need to secure the bark with CA glue before and possibly during turning. This is a GREEN to partially air-dried bowl blank, meaning that it still retains a lot of its original moisture from when it was a living tree. It has been well-sealed with Anchor Seal and is in the process of slowly drying; this process can take years if leave it in log form. It was measured at 35% moisture content in January 2023. If you need a current moisture content, please message us so that we can check its status for you. This is a nice, solid bowl blank. I do not see any flaws or areas of concern. About the Tree This Madrona tree was blown down during a snowstorm that hit San Juan Island in December 2022. It lived on the west side of the island, near Lime Kiln State Park, a famous orca watching location. |

Strong sturdy reliable and versatile

This is a great little side piece to use for your kitchen sink or bathroom mine is in my kitchen sink it works great it sits on the side it's the perfect length holds my scrubber soap and other stuff I need instead of using a makeshift bowl. It's sturdy rust-resistant and I put it through the tests it gets wet every time I do which is every day in this house. You can use it for just about anything. There are no suction cups on it but there is a gray under it that catches all the loose water which is also very convenient. It looks modern and compliments most sinks and kitchens well

Good Quality but Limited Space for Multiple Bottles

This organizer is decent quality, but it ended up being smaller than I expected. For reference, I usually keep the following items at my sink:
• Dawn squeeze dish soap
• Mrs. Meyers hand soap
• Dr. Brown’s bottle soap
• A sponge
• A bottle brush
All of these items fit comfortably in my previous sink caddy that I bought on Amazon. Unfortunately that one eventually started peeling and rusting, which is why I replaced it.
With this one, the narrow section on the left side limits how much you can actually store. It works well for the brush, but it reduces the usable space for bottles. Because of that, fitting multiple soap bottles plus a sponge is a little tight. I also think my previous organizer was slightly wider, which made a bigger difference than I realized.
One feature I do like is the removable plastic tray on the bottom. It catches water well and keeps the counter from getting messy, which is a nice touch.
Overall, it’s usable and I will keep it, but if you normally keep several bottles and tools at your sink like I do, I would recommend paying close attention to the measurements before ordering.

Wonderful size and holds the essentials.

I have no room for something bigger because I have a drop in sink. This is working wonderful. There is room for a scrubby, sponge my stove top cleaner and scrapper for stove. The tray below to catch any water is great and very easy to remove and drain. It takes a second to do. Great size as it is not huge but holds what I need.
