The prevalence of adaptations in cinema from literary texts is striking. What does this lead us to think about adaptation? This open access book answers this question from a psychoanalytic perspective by exploring the psychic dynamics underlying screen adaptation as a practice, offering an intriguing window into the desire for adaptation beyond semiotic parameters and industrial factors.
Through a series of examples from Hamlet and Hitchcock, to Kubrick's The Shining, and Jonze's Adaptation the book theorizes film adaptations in relation to their originals. Drawing on the theories of Freud and Lacan, Hee-seung Irene Lee rigorously explains psychoanalytic concepts such as desire, the drive, the Oedipus complex, the uncanny, and anxiety, which are prevalent and remain useful in the vast field of cultural studies. As a result, readers can easily follow the book's case studies of canonical film adaptations with interest.
At the same time, the author attempts to challenge, expand, and renew the usual definition of film adaptation. This fosters interdisciplinary dialogue between philosophical and psychoanalytic speculations on subjectivity and frames adaptation not merely as a specific mode of filmmaking but a universal, primordial task of every speaking being.

Dog pee pad tray holder.
Size: Small, Size: Small
I purchased this pre pad holder because my tiny pup would shred into a million pieces the pee pads I placed on the floor.
This is a sturdy, easy to use and clean produce. You just lift up the grief top tray, add a pee pad and close... all done. If you get pads that are a bit too large, no oroblem, you can easily find them to fit into the tray.
Quick clean up are with a wet wipes. For an occasional better clean... the whole thing can be washed in a bath yup or outside with a garden hose.
Best of all, my pup seems to know exactly what to do with this tray!
I would definitive comment and buy again. Actually, I have recommended it to several people.

Keeps the wee wee pads securely snapped in so puppy won't run away and play with them

My maltese puppy would run away and play with the wee wee pads if they weren't secreted inside a holder like this that straps them down. He uses the wee wee pads in this holder very well. I would give this five stars, but my puppy likes another kind of wee wee pad holder that has a plastic grate over it just a tiny bit more. I bought two different kinds of wee wee pad holders to keep at different locations to see what he liked to use. He uses both, but prefers the grated one just a little more. Even so, this is a quality wee wee pad holder and the pads snap in so easily and securely. Great purchase.
