The large stepped diamonds and graphic geometry often remind people of Navajo textiles, which is one reason these kilims are so beloved today, though these are not adaptations or reproductions. They are authentic Anatolian village weavings with their own long-established design language that developed independently within the region's tribal and rural weaving culture.
Handwoven from handspun Anatolian wool, this flatweave has developed the soft handle and character that only decades of use can create. The colors remain vibrant and beautifully preserved, while the kilim's overall condition is exceptional for its age.
